I've been delinquent! I have been working late nights lately. Not as late as Kyle but late for me. 7 or 8 PM-ish. Call us Mr & Mrs Serious during the week but come Friday Mr & Mrs Funtimes come out of weekly hibernation.
On
Friday night, we went to this restaurant called Buddakan in the Meatpacking District. It was a very hip scene. Super cool interior. Lots of beautiful people. Naturally, Kyle and I felt right at home ;) Actually, our waitress told us there were a bunch of models there that night...I guess that explains the beautiful people....
Saturday I took part 2 of my ARE test. I think it went OK? Hard to tell. After that Kyle and I went to the discount theater ticket booth in Times Square and got last minute tickets to see The Producers. It was a pretty good show. However, Wicked and The Drowsy Chaperone still rank at the top for me. Also Kyle's cousin, Jim, and Wendy were married on Saturday so we were thinking about them and wishing we could be in Houston. Congratulations to them!
Sunday we went to church and Kyle had to go into work. I should've gone into work too but I locked myself out of the apartment while running up and down between the apartment and laundromat. So that turned into a mini-fiasco and I got fed up with trying to make it to work so I went shopping in Soho instead. I know, tough choice: work or shopping....but after all my studying I deserved a little break, right?
Last night I left work around 7PM yesterday evening to go meet Kyle for dinner. I noticed a police officer riding the subway with all his gear on which is weird b/c they normally don't ride on the subway. I thought something was up because he appeared to be vigilant, not just hanging out for the ride. So this morning I freaked out reading
this news article. A crazie went on a subway stabbing spree yesterday. One of the stabbings was at the Rock Center platform which is the one I take to get home! Yowsers! Yeah, not feeling very safe so I took a cab home tonight. Hmmm....come to think of it, one also puts their life in mild danger riding in a NY cab. I suppose you're not too safe anywhere. Anyhow, I just saw on the news that they caught the stabbing spree guy so tomorrow I will be riding the subway again.
Correction: I will
excitedly be riding the subway tomorrow to receive my June bonus which is the best and most delicious bonus of them all. It's the one based on performance and profits and this year we're told, with an abundance of graphs and charts, was the most profitable in the firm's
entire 40-odd year history so I'm expecting good things. My company is having the Bonus Day party tomorrow evening at The Hard Rock Cafe in Times Square. Good times. The theme is "Rock Star" so we're supposed to dress like rock stars.....only my company would come up with this cheese....not sure about seeing the veeps all dressed up like Billy Idol but if my company can do anything it's throw a rockin' party!
