Aggie Pictures

Notice there's not much text these days, mostly pictures....

Mammaw requested some Aggie pictures of the kids together so I had to share my favorites. Although I wasn't able to get pictures of both kids looking at the camera, I did capture a few special moments. And this one is just a picture of John looking handsome after his haircut....finally!

Gig 'Em!

Happy Easter 2011

We traveled to the great city of College Station for Easter Sunday. We went to services at Central Baptist Church in Bryan. Chris Osbourne's sermon was fantastic. He recounted the events of the day leading up to Jesus' crucifixion in a captivating, straightforward way.

As we left church Anna was practicing her latest dramatization of "Anna Asleep". She loves to pretend sleep very convincingly and it's kinda funny too.

On our way to brunch at Miramont! Empty bellies and a full buffet!

Attempting a shot of the children together....not very successful....

Not quite sure about the Easter bunny...from far away, Yes. Up close, No

Anna and Sadie coloring at the kids table. The nice thing about Miramont is their accomodation for the kids. This kids table was decked out with coloring pages, crayons, markers, cookie decorating, baskets of assorted candies (right within the kids' reach....awesome)

The kids' food buffet table was also set just at their height. Loaded with PB&J sandwiches, chicken tenders, mac n cheese, veggies, fruits, and a bunny cake!

Someone was ECSTATIC when they received their bunny cake!!!

The Great Potato Harvest of 2011

You'll remember our 2010 Harvest documented here

The Farmers Bethancourt were at it again this spring....

The players:

(not pictured) Hard working dad who planted the seeds, watered, watched, and pulled weeds

Anna Bear with her first ponytail!!! I can't stand that little profile! (in a good way, that is)

Mister John: The Melancholy Farmer
(prepared and particular with a year of harvesting under his belt)

"TAAAAY -- TOOOOES!!!"

Dirty Tay-toes

J & A had lots of fun cleaning them off

Here are the clean ones

Look at all those clean potatoes.....ready to be boiled and mashed and creamed up

"Oh, Sister, give me a celebratory squeeze for the great harvest we were blessed with this year!"

Anna's 2nd Birthday

"Before you ever took a breath
Long before the world began......

Of all the wonders He possessed
There was one more precious....

.....You're beautiful
You are treasured, you are sacred, you are HIS"
--Beautiful, Mercy Me

Anna's 2nd birthday was on March 27th, a Sunday. After church, we went to Sweet Tomatoes to celebrate. ST is one of the kids' favorite places. They have booths and endless mac and cheese, it's a winner.

I bought a cake to take to the restaurant so Anna could blow out her candles.
She KNEW it was ALL. about. her.

And John knew it was all about CAKE!

Happy Birthday, Anna Banana! You are so precious to our family. We love your laugh, funny personality, "shifty eyes", cuddliness, independence, adventurous personality. You make mommy laugh when you yell "STOP IT, JOHN!!" with the authority of a 15 year old. You say lots of words and make pretty good conversation. You like to boss John around and you love your bunny and blanket. You have big brown eyes and very long eyelashes like Mimi. You don't like wearing dresses (to mommy's dismay) or socks. You like to pick out your clothes and you can put on most of your shoes by yourself, thankyouverymuch. One of your favorite phrases is "I do it". You also say "I lub-oo" for I love you and I really don't want to hear you say it the right way because it's sooooo cute. You loooove, looove, loooove your Daddy. You love reading books, playing with baby dolls and purses. You like wearing mommy's high heels and you like running, doing gymnastics, and summersaults. I can't wait to see what these year brings out in you.

The Challenge / The Rest

Today has been a challenge from the beginning.
John and Anna have been up in each other's business....nothing too unusual, just the regular stuff....

After Anna went down for her nap after lunch, I mandated quiet time for all of our sakes....

.....then I found this....

I knew a little someone was tired.....
