Johnny Rocker Zoolander

My brother in law and sister in law have been staying with us this week and yesterday Cami and I decided to do an extreme makeover on John. We thought it would be cool to transform him into his alter-ego "Johnny Rocker" the muscle-man-rocker-tough-guy. So I put some camo shorts on him and a tight white shirt (with the sleeves rolled up to show off his muscles...er....rolls??) and we spiked his hair into a mohawk. Dude looks tough.

In this picture he's flexing

Here's a close up of the 'do. This is his Zoolander look, for all of you that have seen that movie...I forgot to mention that when John went for his 1 month check up the doctor (yes, the doctor) said his hair reminded her of Derek Zoolander. Awesome!! And I'd have to add that his face in this picture resembles Zoolander too. What do you think?

Boys, Boys, Everywhere Boys!

Today John got to meet and spend some good quality time with his 4 cousins, Alex, Luke, Isaac, & Jack. Kyle's brother Justin and his wife Erin and the 4 boys live in Jakarta, Indonesia. They are in town for several weeks this summer and everyone came over for a pizza lunch today.

It was really cute how the boys were quite intrigued by John. They wanted to touch him and kiss him and pet him. John did very well with all the commotion. He was very alert the entire afternoon, taking the whole scene in and studying his cousins very closely. Since the little ones are in the "Why?" phase they had lots of questions about this peculiar little person named John:

"Why doesn't he talk?"
"Why are his feet so small?"
"Why is he so short?"

Jack particularly was very proud of the fact that he was taller than John. Since he's younger than the triplets I'm sure he was quite excited to be bigger than someone else for once!

So here's my John picture of the day....it seems collared shirts don't work to well if you don't have a neck but it makes a cute picture anyways?

John's 1 month birthday was yesterday and we went to the doctor to have him checked out. He's doing great and now weighs 10 lbs 2 oz. Packin' on those ounces!

I guess the baggy shirt hides the extra weight & triple chin in this picture??

Party Time!

So it seems this blog has turned into a Baby John Photo Blog. What can I say....our child is now our entertainment.

Today I hosted a baby shower for my friend Emily. She is cooking up another little boy playmate for John. Emily's little man will show up on this earth in August so we're really looking forward to meeting him. Another friend who helped me host the shower brought her 5 week old baby boy, Logan, to the party. As you can see in this picture John and Logan thoroughly enjoyed themselves at the party. (Rumor has it they had too much to drink -- if ya know what I mean)
Apparently the party was a real snoozer....well, as the shower was wrapping up I noticed the place had cleared out quite a bit. I thought it odd that people had left without me noticing so I go back to the nursery to check on Little Bear & Logan and I found that the party had moved to the nursery as it was jam packed with ladies cooing and passing around the adorably cuddly John & Logan. Go figure? John is the one in red (unfortunately for him, all of his decent clothes were hanging in the living room as decoration) and Logan is more appropriately dressed for the occasion in trousers. It should be real fun having these 3 little guys so close in age.

Bye-Bye to Umbi the Umbilical Cord

My little baby bear is all grown up. He lost his umbilical cord residue last Friday on his 3 week birthday. Now he is free to be immersed in water so instead of bathing in the baby bathtub (which illicited screams of terror) he now takes showers with Daddy to get clean. And boy does he like his shower. He enjoys letting the warm water run down his little body with not even a peep. In this picture it appears that John does not appreciate Mommy wielding bright lights during his "Spa Time" and snapping half-naked pictures of him but I just had to!

Happy Father's Day to this brand new daddy! And also sending love to our dads, whom our little guy is named after!

John's Aggie Adventure

John and I are on a solo mission for the next few days (with the help of Mimi--my mom) while Kyle is in California on a business trip. Kyle had to call and tell me that I was missing out on driving around in his mom's convertible in California. What he doesn't know is that John and I are having way too much fun of our own. We eat every few hours, we take long leisurely naps, we're having our DirecTV installed today and the plumber is coming to find out why mommy had to take a cold shower this morning?! So we can't really imagine having more excitement than this :)

John is quite an adorable little fellow. He likes to eat a lot and makes manly grunting noises as he enjoys his meals which is why I call him my little bear. I am still quite in love with the little guy. We're looking forward for Daddy to return from his business trip! Here are some new pictures....
