FIRST, I noticed the trail of destruction (crumpled green foil on the floor)....
....then I spotted the culprit.....
.....caught RED handed....with chocolate all over her face.....
Apparently she thought it was OK to climb a step-stool and help herself to a Hershey's Kiss. Well, I was giggling too much to do anything about it so I just took some pictures.
John hasn't taken a regular nap since the end of last summer (boo hiss). Instead of naps we now institute "quiet time". Quiet time for John means playing by himself in the office/playroom, while Anna is napping, so I can have a little down time in the day without someone following me around/whining/asking me to play with them/being loud/watching kid shows on TV. (Man that sounds awful but we all know a momma needs a little rest in the day). It only lasts about 50-60 minutes so I think that's fair.
Quiet time used to be a pretty easy thing for John but lately it is a point of contention. QT is met with a chorus of "AAAAWWWWW!!!" and "I dont WANNA do quiet time!" and "no. NEV-ER!" One thing John does like is listening to music during quiet time. Offering my iPod stereo usually diffuses the tense situation. In December he was all about listening to Christmas music during quiet time--specifically "Joy to the World". The man literally listened to "Joy to the World" on repeat for the entire hour of quiet time on several occasions.
So in the spirit of music, John and I put together an ecclectic playlist of his favorite songs for him to jam to during quiet time. In no particular order here is John's Quiet Time iTunes Playlist:

We started off 2011 in Lake Tahoe with Kyle's family. 19 people in one house -- 9 kids, ages 7 and under, and 10 adults. And we all lived to tell about it!
Some fun memories:
Uncle Justin and Uncle Chad's dedication to forming 3 sled runs and an ice cave, drinking lots of hot chocolate, eating, playing in the snow, shoveling snow, snowball fights, cooking, recalling epic wipeouts/yard sales/Uncle Phillip's tree collision, skiing beyond my skill level, a minor whiplash incident, watching old home movies of Kyle's family at Christmas (hilarious) and mercilessly making fun of someone's voice on said videos, Grandpa's gag face, "Jello Legs" Bethancourt, Baby Lawson, Justin's beacon-in-the-fog-yellow-hat, experiencing "the witching hours" (between 4 - 7 PM) with 4 kids ages 2 and under (YIKES!), nerf wars with Grandpa, hot tubbin' it, the boy cousins enjoying eachother, indoor football with milk cartons, foozball competitions, Anna vs Sadie turf wars, Uncle Kyle's legendary Joss Askew the Pizza Man bedtime stories with the boys, and much more!
Thanks to the grandparents for hosting us all and for watching the little ones while the big ones went skiing and for shuttling us back and forth between the slopes and the house. What a fun time
