And the French Concur...What IS "The Shore"??

We had dinner tonight with a nice French couple who lives down the hall from us in our building. They are both from Paris and have lived here in Philly for a few years. The guy is one of the youngest research professors (focusing on large scale crisis management) at Wharton and his wife works for an energy company here. It was fun visiting with them. They have these fabuloso French accents and we happily discussed zee food, zee business, and zee importance of good sho-ko-lat! I think we had what you would call a leisurely French meal complete with an abundance of food and wine. I'm a little toasty so bear with me! The French do luv their wine...and sharing it too.

We laughed with them about how people here do not talk about "the beach" they talk about "The Shore" as in, "I have a shore house down at City X" and "we're going to spend a day at the shore". You always hear the news report during the weather about what the temperature is at The Shore....even europeans know that it's called a beach?! What the heck is a shore?

We were talking about places Kyle might go for an internship and they recommended Monacco for it's good financial ties and proximity to the French Riviera. I'm sold. We're going to Monacco for the summer....see ya!
