It sure is a lot of responsibility taking care of John. A lot more work than I realized trying to take care of him along with all the other stuff that needs to be done (bills, meals, cleaning,
blogging (ha!) etc..). Shout out to all the moms out there! Hello?! Why is it that you don't appreciate your mom and all her hard work until you have kids of your own?! Now I understand the times my mom said "When you're a mother one day you'll know....." Too bad it takes a couple decades to get the REAL thanks you deserve!
Being a mommy can certainly be frustrating and overwhelming at times. BUT I'm also really enjoying getting to know this little person. It's the best reward to see him grow and develop and it's only been a few weeks. I'm trying to burn this time into my memory because I know this period when he's so little and dependent and cuddly will pass really fast!
Friday marks John's 7 week birthday. I read in one of my many baby books that weeks 6 thru 8 are the fussiest for babies. Amen to that...can I get a witness?!?!
So we're in the middle of that time frame. Overall, John is a very good little boy and enjoys soaking in the world and being social but it does seem that he is a bit more fussy these days. Hopefully this too shall pass.
Some things that John likes are:
Mom and me sing-a-long time (Wheels on the Bus & Old McDonald are big hits--especially the "moo moo" of the cows)
Eating
Taking showers with Daddy
Eating
Looking at things in the house (especially anything with lots of color)
Eating
Rides in the stroller
And did I mention eating??
We do have some good news to report: (and I hope I don't jinx myself by mentioning it)
For the past 4 nights the little guy has slept for 7 hours straight at night! Hallelujah. So we're actually pretty well rested these days. I just hope it continues....
