On Thursday I met up with Emily at the pumpkin patch to take some fall pictures with our little men. Just so you know....90 degree weather, 80% humidity, 2 hot babies, & 2 hot mamas is a recipe for CRAZY....and a blogworthy story.
As we arrived at St. Luke's pumpkin patch this started to feel like a repeat of John's 3 month picture day. After being outside for about 2 seconds Emily & I were both melting as Rusty & John were having melt-downs of their own......Emily captured the mood of the morning on her blog post appropriately titled "Hotober". Well put, my friend. Hotober, indeed.
If I thought trying to make John smile in an indoor photo shoot was hard imagine trying to make him smile in the heat and surrounded by exciting new things such as leaves, dirt, & bright orange pumpkins! Mission impossible. This picture shows John's favorite pose (I have about 7 pictures of him like this). His only fascination was touching the pumpkin stems. That's all that mattered to him...so be it. Baby Rusty is 2 months younger than John. Bless his heart, this picture shows the calm before the storm.
Forget you, mom. These pumpkin stems are prickly and unusual. I think I'll just touch them for a while....
Hmmm...which of these pumpkins is worthy of my selection. Naturally, it must be one with a very intriguing stem....Also, while we were at the patch, a reporter from the Houston Chronicle online asked if she could take some video of us taking pictures of our boys. Of course we said yes but little did we know her article was about smashing rotten pumpkins?? We're only on the video for about 4 seconds but we're there. Click here for the video.
