Does This Floatsuit Make Me Look Fat?

John is excited to take his first swim lessons at the YMCA next month. We are also joining the neighborhood pool and going on a cruise this summer with the Bethancourt family. With safety in mind I spotted this "Float suit" at Costco. The packaging touted "Float suit with NEW ring of confidence!". Note the ring of confidence around Confident John's neck.

We put the float suit on to make sure it fit and had a laughing attack watching John walk around with it on. It has about 3 inches of foam all around the chest and back so when he'd fall on the ground he was so padded he would bounce. It looked like he was wearing one of those fake sumo wrestler outfits. Anything to keep my baby safe!

Behold John's first pool experience at the Y (sans the "ring of confidence"). After a lot of whining at first he finally decided it was OK as long as mommy was holding him tight. Kyle even sneaked away from work for a few minutes to come witness the blessed event and take this picture.
