Movin' On Up....At Least a Little?!

I really don't have much exciting to share today. There's not much to tell when you spend most of your time either on a train or in an office building. My train to NYC was an hour late this morning. I explored 5th Avenue during my lunch break.

OH! how could I have forgotten?! The most exciting part of my day....I got a pay raise/cost of living increase today! Hallelujah!
My new boss called me into his office:
boss: "We need to talk about your salary"
me: "yes we do"
boss: "you definitely need more of it. I don't know how much it costs to live in Houston but you need to be making more money here..."

I sure didn't argue with that...I'm sure you've all heard me complain about a $5 can of Lysol and $1 Yoplait yogurt!!! My small-town wages weren't going to cut in this fast-paced northeast lifestyle...especially being the sole breadwinner of our little family ;)

Well, after I buy my Amtrak tickets for tomorrow I'm off to bed. I haven't posted my usual Misto flavor of the day updates because, well, there just hasn't been any time to go these days. I miss my Misto's and Kyle doesn't go without me since he insists it's "our thing" to do together.

A sidenote to go along with yesterday's observation about commuting:
I finally realized today what sits weird with me about the whole commute thing. It's rushing to Penn Station (or arriving at Penn Station in a hurry) only to be greeted by hyper-active fast tempo classical music piping thru the speakers. That's it! The classical music. You would think classical music in a place this hectic would be calming or soothing but this music just adds to the anxiety. When I'm there I feel like a silent movie character. You know the ones where the grainy black and white film is moving too fast for the music and the character's movements are all choppy and jolty? That's totally me in Penn Station!!
