I've Seen the "Rat Race" and I've Been a Rat!

Note: I'm finally attaching this picture of my first day of work (before and after the rat race). It's only fair since I took a picture of Kyle's first day of school and posted it below.

Today I realized why New Yorkers are an angry breed. Tell me who really enjoys commuting for an hour (on average, I found out), running to catch your preferred mode of PT, dodging people/traffic, & getting all hot and bothered to the point where your nice little clothes are sticking to your sweaty little body. By the time I ordered my Smoothie King dinner at 7PM I was ready to give a good (and loud) piece of my mind to anyone or anything that happened upon the path of.....TORNADO LORI!!!

Ok, I've put Negative Nelly to bed. In fact, my first day of work was actually really good. I liked my team, I enjoyed the work I did and felt competent (at least for today). Overall, I'm excited about this new chapter in my work life. And, if I am really honest, most of today's transportation woes can be attributed to being a newbie commuter. Today I learned what I can do better tomorrow and it should be at least 80% easier I'm guessing.

It also helps that I have such a supportive hubby :) After a long day of school and studies, he fixed up the apartment all nice for me to come home to this evening and greeted this weary traveller with a big smile and a bigger hug. I love him to pieces for his moral support.

Goodnight. Sleep tight :)
