Still Playing Hooky...

So yesterday I was beginning to think John was pulling through. He had been drinking Pedialyte and eating bland food with much success. We played in the front yard with his sprinkler pool toy. Lots of fun was had.

In the evening we went to dinner with Kyle's sister, Christina. I gave John a 1/2 jar of mild baby food (I thought it would be easier on his stomach) and some milk. At the restaurant John spewed all over himself. Looking back, baby food + milk would equal barf for me too....but whatever. Being the forward-thinking mom I am I had no change of clothes. I haven't carried a change of clothes with me since John's "explosion days" back in late '07. We finished dinner quickly, stripped John down, and took our baby home wearing a diaper and sandals. awesome.

He woke up at 4 am this morning and I thought he was probably thirsty so I gave him some Pedialyte which he then projectiled all over me. I smelled like sweet apple perfume. So we went to the doctor this morning and he has a gastrointestinal virus. We just have to wait it out with a few more days of bland food.

So today was not to be John's first day of school either. This incident has brought back sad, sad memories of me missing Aggie Fish Camp (yes, I missed FISH CAMP?!) and my entire first week of college due to a month-long bout with mono. It was so awful and I still have real sadness about missing Fish Camp and that important first week of college. And now my son is following in his mother's footsteps....hopefully he won't look back on his life and regret missing his first week of Mother's Day Out.....

Oh - I remember your bout with mono......

Was this your first projectile vomit? It seemed to happen alot for us around 18mths to 2 1/2 years old.

Oh the extra clothes - when potty training starts up you travel with several :)

Hope your little guy feels better soon. Hang in there. lovemon

I hope your training with our triplets in Feb '05 has proved useful during this illness. Lovely, isn't it? Erin
