So far this morning it's been a beautiful day. If it weren't for satellite technology you would never know a monster is looming in the gulf.
What we've been so impressed with are the pictures of the Galveston seawall which is 18 feet tall and the ocean is literally lapping at the seawall and that was at 7AM this morning, 16 hours ahead of the predicted storm arrival and that's not even with the storm surge yet! That's pretty scary. We're hoping everyone in Galveston has gotten out. One of the reporters even mentioned that the fire chief couldn't convince some people to leave so they asked for their name and social security number and left them. OK, when the fire chief is asking for that info, people, that means they're expecting you TO DIE?!
Ok, well enough doom and gloom. Say a prayer for us and we'll give you an update later.

Oh Lori - My SIL and her family stayed too but they are on the south side of Houston and I'm just worried sick for all of you guys. Please be safe and hold your baby tight. Again, my prayers are with all of you guys.

the news reports on FoxNews here in Indonesia have said that they are asking Galveston residents who did not evacuate to write their social security number on their arm. YIKES!! sounds like a war. we will be praying for all of you and watching the storm roll in. erin
