A DAY OFF!

What a relaxing day! My team at work had the day off since we had already worked a 60 hour week by yesterday evening. I slept until 11 AM this morning and enjoyed every second of it! I did a bunch of laundry then walked around for about 4 hours. Somehow I always end up in Soho when I go out but it was a really pleasant day today so I was just happy to be out walking. I did make one purchase....only one. I bought myself some diamond stud earrings to wear for this evening's dinner at Del Frisco's Steakhouse. Yes, fancy $8 CZ earrings but we can keep that between you and me.

So when I got home a little after 6 PM Kyle was home and told me he saw a news crew filming in the subway station by our house. Apparently ANOTHER person (besdies the chain saw wielding maniac from yesterday) slashed a guy's face in the subway about a half hour earlier. EEEKS! What is going on here?! So I felt safer taking a cab to dinner (which was excellent by the way). It was about time Kyle got some steak in him. We ended up going to Morimoto on July 4th when Scott was here instead of going tomorrow as originally planned. I'm glad we did too because Scott likes sushi so he and I pretty much ate most of the food but Kyle did try a little bit of everything so I was proud of him.

But back to tonight....we took a pedi-cab home from Del Frisco's since the subway wasn't an option for me at this point. I was always a little leery of pedi-cabs (they're the bikes with covered seats in the back). They don't have any sheilding between you and the street and the people who bike the pedi-cabs go in between the cars and it's a little freaky. But I must say it was really pleasant riding home in one, we went through Times Square and had a lot of cabs honking at us which made me laugh and laugh but overall it was great fun!
