The Details of the Season and Enjoying Them All!

What a weekend! We've had such beautiful weather here...unseasonably warm so we wanted to take advantage of being outside. On Saturday morning we went to Reading Terminal Market (see this link about the open-air warehouse/farmer's market in Philadelphia) and had brunch at a little place called The Dutch Eating Place (creative name, huh?). It was soooo yummy. I think it was an Amish-owned operation because we saw Amish people cooking the food in the back. Saturday's a busy day for brunch. There was a line but they rush people through pretty quickly. No time for lollygagging. Eat your food, pay, and MOVE! After brunch we walked around and enjoyed the sights and smells of all the fresh items.

We left Reading Terminal Market and Kyle went to a study group and I sat down for a bit. One and a half hours later I found myself glued to the Food Network having watched 3 cooking shows in a row! Now I know why Christina loves this channel. I could have watched it all day. I was so inspired to cook! It was a good thing too because we had invited Kara over for dinner and to listen to the Aggie game. I had already planned on making quesadillas and bought some fresh tortillas and fresh salsa at Reading Terminal Market I also decided to make homemade whipped cream (so easy) to eat with strawberries for dessert. It was all delish!

Today we went to church then Kyle had a great idea to make lunch and take it to Rittenhouse Square for a picnic. It was still beautiful outside. The leaves were falling. Whenever the wind would blow it knocked the leaves off the trees and looked like it was snowing leaves in different colors. There were 3 people playing violin in the park and a crowd had gathered. I thought Kyle was enjoying the whole scene with me until I turned around and he was facing the complete opposite direction, looking upward, patiently waiting for a breeze to blow so he could catch a falling leaf. HA HA HA! To each his own. We took a walk afterwards and dropped in at Williams Sonoma which is so wonderful during the holiday season! They had hot cider and pumpkin butter (sounds weird but it was so good)

Tomorrow I'm off to NYC. I wasn't there last week so I'm looking forward to it and my early train is sold out so I get to take a later train...30 more minutes of sleep for me!
