She turned 3 months a few days ago (I can't believe it!). She is now constantly rolling from her tummy to her back. It's funny because she sleeps on her tummy but every once in a while I hear her making noise on the monitor or I go in and check on her and there she is on her back happily talking to her self with her eyes wide open looking around. I finally actually SAW her do it today. I keep seeing the end result but haven't seen her actually do it until today.
I don't have much reference to when this should happen because John never did consistently roll over from tummy to back or back to tummy. If he was on his tummy he would either get so angry and kick forever or fall asleep and if he was on his back he was content to look around. So there was never any real milestone of him turning himself over. Kind of like he was never interested in crawling too much either. He would rather just sit in one spot and observe the world then eventually he went straight to walking. I'm sure I'll be in for a big surprise with Anna. She's already scooting all over the place when she's on her tummy.
And she is definitely quite the talker. Anyone who spends time with her comments on how she just loves cooing and making little noises while staring intently at you. It's very cute. She also is smiling a lot and today she actually laughed for me.
John is playing the big brother role nicely. When he sees Anna in the morning he loves to say "Hi-Morning, Anna!" and "AKE UP, ANNA!" He lifts up her legs to check for poopy diapers and informs me by saying "PEE-EEW, Anna!" He tickles her feet and tummy and still loves to give her kisses. When anyone comes up to Anna in the stroller he always shoves his way up and says "MY Anna!!" just so everyone knows who she belongs to. The other day we went to the birthday party and left Anna with our neighbor and John kept pointing to her car seat base saying "Anna? Anna?" very worried that she wasn't coming with us. I realized that I go plenty of places with just Anna when John's in school but John had never been anywhere in our car unless Anna was with us too. I thought it was sweet that he was concerned she wasn't with us. Whenever Anna cries John tells me "Anna cah-ing" then he says "OK, Anna, OK....paci, Mommy?" It's an amazing thing to see the little seeds of affection that your children have for eachother. It's something I never experienced being an only child. And though I know it won't always be so pleasant between them I like to enjoy those moments when they happen.
