We went back to my parent's to pick up Anna to bring back home with us (yes, nursing still keeps me tied to the little mama for now) but John spent the night at Mimi and Popeye's and had a grand time. They played with some Cars (as in the movie) puzzles that John is now addicted to. I think they played with the puzzles for a few hours. Have I mentioned my son has an addictive personality? He can play golf for almost 2 hours straight. Cardboard puzzles are now his new fascination.
Kyle is at the Aggie game tonight so I am on Baby Wrangler duty. After John woke up from his nap he was in a ridiculously awful mood so we had a quick, early dinner and headed to Memorial City Mall for a promise to go to the play castle after we bought John some new shoes...what was I thinking? It's Saturday night. I had no idea A LOT of people consider strolling the mall their weekend entertainment. Yikes. After we bought John some spiffy new shoes we came across a 10-person-deep line at the play castle. I had to make up a quick excuse to not wait in the line so I showed him that there were way too many "friends" at the play castle and we couldn't get in. John understood. If there's one thing that bothers him on playgrounds its other people, or "friends". He gets annoyed when other kids show up on his turf and is known to say "NO FRIENDS!" So, instead, we decided to be anti-social and eat ice cream and watch a hockey team practice on the ice rink. That turned out to be way better and we didn't have to deal with the "friends".
Then we went to Target. We were in desperate need of pajamas because John is seriously busting the seams of his 18 month PJs he's had since last summer. It was time to upgrade. I got caught up looking at the cute girl clothes, picked up a skirt, showed it to John and said "this is cute!"....oh, brother....the WHOLE duration of our Target trip John was walking from rack to rack picking up random baby clothing items within his reaching and saying "Mommy, THIS is cute!". Crazy black acid wash toddler jeans....."Mommy, this is CUTE!" a freaky blue shirt "this is cute, Mommy"....leggings for Anna "this is cute!" thomas the train underwear "THIS is CUTE, MOMMY!!" I was laughing the whole time. It was hilarious and scary all at once.
Ok....Baby Wrangler is being called back to duty....the Anna Bear is trying to fight off sleep with a stick....later!
