Greetings from Carmel

We have escaped the 100-degree-hurricane-target weather of Houston and are in the beautiful sunny town of Carmel. Today we went downtown to take a look at the parade of cars that will be at the Concours this weekend at Pebble Beach. Click here for more info on the Concours. In a nutshell, people from all over the country bring their fancy antique and exotic cars to Pebble Beach for a big car show. You've got your standard antique Benz' and Rolls but I'm talking car brands so fancy I hadn't even heard of some of them? Duesenbergs, Spykers, Packards, Isotta Fraschini (huh?). It's quite the rage and their were tons of people here. I took about 70 pictures and I'm not sure what in the world I'm planning to do with them? I'll upload them eventually so those who are interested can see....

One of my favorite past times is people-watching and I decided that Carmel should also be known as Preppyville: Population 5,000. It's like Ralph Lauren, Lilly Pulitzer and Lacoste threw up all over Carmel. So, in keeping with Carmel tradition we dressed up John in his Polo shirt-outfit and loafer socks. No preppy outfit is complete without the sweater draped over the shoulder and tied in front so here is John at Pebble Beach modeling his "resort wear"

I'm sure having fun, Mommy!
