We caught up with Emily after lunch and walked up 5th Ave to look at all the big department store windows, took in all the Rockefeller Center action with the huge tree and ice skating rink, then moved on to Central Park. We found a little cafe to sip some cappucino and give our legs time to recouperate before we headed to The Metropolitan Museum of Art which was really exciting but, unfortunately, we didn't have nearly enough time to see everything. We didn't get home until 10:30 last night.
After sleeping well and late into the morning Kristen and I went to Reading Terminal Market for brunch and just about the time we finished our meal Kyle showed up with John & Debbie who drove in this morning from CT. The girls toured The Market while Kyle and John went back to the apartment to watch some football games. The girls went to Lord & Taylor afterwards to watch the famous light show and then we headed out to Longwood Gardens to see the Christmas display. All this was a repeat for me since we did this same stuff with my parents but I enjoyed it all the same. I always see new and exciting things at Longwood especially. I think everyone really enjoyed the Longwood experience.
After dinner we dressed up our Christmas tree. Debbie had taken pity on our pitiful tree and returned from CT today armed with ornaments and candy canes for dressing. I had some semi-Christmas-looking fabric scraps that I fashioned into an impromtu tree skirt and now we have a presentable tree! See......
