John Almost 4 and Anna is 2!

As John approaches his fourth birthday I find myself realizing just how big my little baby has gotten.

Sometimes I look at old videos of John from even just 6 months ago and I see a different little boy now. More helpful, less drama and refusal to do things, definitely more outgoing, playful, carefree, adventurous. Just a few weeks ago we were at a park with some older friends and I could tell John really wanted to slide down the "fireman pole" like his buddies but he just couldn't muster up the courage to try it. A few days later when we were at the park alone I told John he could slide down that pole easily and we should practice so he could do it with his friends next time. He was so hesitant but I could tell that his new adventurous spirit was taking over and after I lugged my large, heavy self down that pole once to show him how it's done, he took over. His face was beaming with pride after facing his fear and doing it on his own! He slid down that pole over and over and over again.

Anna is also so big. She is now 2 (pictures will come on her birthday post) and I don't even know where the time has gone. I feel like she grew up over night. Her legs have lost their chub and she is starting to lose her baby-ness. She is so independent, adventurous, and talks a lot. She chatters on and I can usually understand most of what she is saying. She loves giving hugs and when we cuddle at night her big brownies look at me so intently as we pray and sing songs. I really try to burn those images in my memory, I will stare at her so long and hard like I'm saving a mental picture on a hard drive in my brain. Really, I do! I don't want to forget!

It truly is a precious gift to be able to watch your children grow up and learn little things every day which will shape the person they are.
