Take Me Out To The Ballgame

The other day we were very spontaneous and decided to go to an Astros game as a family.
Our goals for the evening:
- to entertain the kids for 3 hours in the evening that didn't involve sweating it outdoors
- watch batting practice
- do something "different"
- head home whenever we needed to, preferably in time for bed

Here we go!

John likes watching batting practice so we headed up a little early. Here are John and Dad hoping to catch a ball

Here are the ladies enjoying batting practice...and Anna clutching her ticket with a death grip....this place is biiiiiigggg

We headed over to the Squeeze Play playground and John was ready to run the bases alongside the freakishly large moving mechanical player cut out

Here he is waiting for the green light, posed in the very serious "ready running position" (tiny balled up fists, left arm in front) You can see the foot of the freakishly large cut out on the left (I hear the first time John did this last year he had a spaz attack when the thing started moving--terrifying indeed!--but now he's a grown up)

Now, Anna's version of the game:

"WOW! Look at the game! This is great!"

"Peanut? What the heck is this and what am I supposed to do with it?"

"WHEEEE! This is so much fun there is so much room to run!"

"This is so exciting I can hardly stand it! Look at my belly!"
"Running from Mommy is my favorite thing to dooooo! She can't catch me I'm so fast!"

"OK, I'll stop for one picture--just one"

The outing was a success. All parties involved had fun.
