It was great getting to spend lots of time with the family all together in one place! Especially getting to see Justin, Erin, & the boys who only grace our presence once a year since they live on the other side of the world.
I think we all had lots of fun but Kyle and I determined John had the BEST time of us all.
John's Top 5 Cruise Moments:
#1 Eating all the food his little eyes could see and his little finger could point to. During one meal JT proceeded to eat an entire adult portion of fish and chips plus a big hunk of grapes & a few bites of dessert. I was certain either his tummy might explode or he might get sick from all the binging but he seemed to come out OK. For those of you that know our baby has a "regularity" issue, rest assured that we had great success in the poop department.
#2 The live country-themed dancing and singing show. The little dude kicked it until almost 10 PM one night dancing (on the tables, mind you) and clapping wildly to a variety show. You've never seen someone so excited to see people dancing and singing. He was in his element.
#3 Being mistaken for a celebrity. Yes, at dinner one night a person from the table next to us asked if he could take a picture of John because he thought he looked like the E-trade baby.
#4 Ned the Waiter. Ah, Ned, what would we have done without you. After the second night at dinner Ned knew John's preferences exactly. Like an ol' regular, Ned would have John's highchair pulled up to the usual spot at the table. Then Ned would greet us at our table with a plate full of grapes (for the Grape Monster--that's a whole other story) and a glass of whole milk with a straw. After all, John became a regular fixture at dinner and he was treated accordingly. This baby had it too good.
#5 Hanging with the fun cousins! John had a super time with all the entertainment his cousins provided. There was no shortage of people to observe, play with, and nap with. Alex, Isaac, Luke, & Jack were very generous with their toys and displayed some adorable tender moments with him. I especially found it cute when John would get upset how 3 year old Jack would try to comfort him by saying softly in his baby voice "Don't cry, Baby John, it's OK." And the most fun part was having SLEEPOVERS in Mamaw and Grandpa's room every night. Thanks for taking that on, M & G! What a big help that was for the "big kids"....
