John's First Party!

Today John attended his first real live official non-family member birthday party for Catherine Mayfield's 1st birthday. And would you believe that I FORGOT to bring my camera?! I was so mad I could spit! But I'll give you a play-by-play account:

John got all dressed up for the occasion, wearing a collared onesie and his fancy blue plaid shorts. His hair was somewhat tamed for the big day (but then again there's not much we can do about his crazyhair these days).

The party was held at Gymboree and upon entering the doors my little John could not take his eyes off all the excitement. Those of you that know him know how intrigued he is by, well, everything. He intently studies his surroundings and Gymboree was no exception.

The colors, the sounds, the kids, the bubbles! It was all so exciting! He watched the action from the safety of mom's arms and stood on the floor with my support, stomping in delight at all the wonderful things he saw. He got bubbles blown on him, watched himself in a mirror, rode a rocking horse with Daddy, and walked on a giant colorful barrel-roll. And after about 20 minutes of non-stop action, Mr. John konked out. But what a glorious 20 minutes it was....
